CheckoutBasil essential oil, like the plant from which it is extracted, deserves its title of "royal", entrenched in it thousands of years ago. In the ancient world, basil was considered the king of all plants, however, because of its culinary and medicinal qualities, or because basil oil was used to anoint monarchs on thrones, it is still not known.
Today, basil remains one of the most popular spicy and aromatic cultures, without which it is impossible to imagine yourself the national culinary masterpieces of the Mediterranean and the Caucasus. The invigorating, spicy, rich aroma of this plant is one of the best tonics.
Specifications
The rich and spicy oil from basil is obtained through steam distillation, but not all aerial parts of the plant, but only the leaves and tops of the stems, and even then only during the flowering period, when the concentration of essential oils is highest.
Basil oil, despite the fact that the plant itself is rich in color and is always noticeable in sauces (take at least the legendary pesto), is practically colorless or only slightly yellow, it is transparent and fluid.
The aroma of basil oil is light, complex, spicy-sweet with emerging astringency and bitterness, with a fresh almost citrus top note and a balsamic-woody base. On sale you can find sweet or exotic basil oil: they are similar in properties, but the color of the latter is more intense, and the aroma is with a hint of anise and camphor.
Basil oil can be stored for up to 5 years if the packaging is well sealed.
The aroma of basil goes well with essential oils with bright aromas - lime, hyssop, verbena, sage, citronella, petitgrain, geranium, ginger, tangerine, opopanax, limetus, mint, all herbaceous, green oak trees, fresh mint aromas.

Application in cosmetology and in household
In the cosmetic field, basil oil manifests itself in basic skin care products as a fortifying and rejuvenating additive that improves the appearance and elasticity of the skin. Basil is not as effective for treating serious problems or damage; it is better to use it as a general active additive for daily care products. The only exception is the elimination of warts.
The effect of basil oil on hair is more varied: it is also suitable for highly specialized products, because it actively and quickly stimulates growth, improves hair structure and restores shine.
Basil has a very good tonic and antibacterial effect in dentistry: this essential oil can quickly heal infections, lesions and sores on the gums. It is best to use basil in your daily gargle for this.
