CheckoutDry face masks: pros and ... no cons
If you shake the jar with the inscription "face mask" - and, surprised at its lightness, heard the soft rustle of the powder, then you should know: this mask is dry. Until recently, there were only two dry (powder) masks, and they were all clay-based, but recently their range has rapidly expanded; and it is not surprising: after having tasted dry masks with their rich natural composition, practicality and economy, no one wants to refuse them. What is so magical and attractive about these modest-looking powders?
A dry face mask is always a finely dispersed powder that you dilute with water or another liquid to a comfortable consistency, and then apply to your face and hold like any other mask. That is, there are only two differences from a regular mask: firstly, the need to prepare it, dilute it with water, and secondly, a unique composition with an abundance of components such as minerals, clays, salt and crushed plants, cereals. You can imagine how a kind of beauty miller throws into the mill the most useful and natural - minerals, salts, cereals, dry plants, berries, flowers, spices - where it turns into a fine mixed powder, filled with valuable microelements.
The composition of dry masks
The composition of dry masks can vary quite significantly depending on the purpose of the product, on the type of skin for which the mask is intended, on the expected effect. For example, masks with a cleansing effect will contain more clay and salts; nutritional masks may include oils; if the mask is whitening, firming, rejuvenating, softening or moisturizing, then the plant components - crushed leaves, fruits and flowers of plants - from linden and rose hips to horsetail and chamomile - will also be carefully selected, in accordance with their effect on the skin. In general, when buying a dry mask, it will not be superfluous to look at its composition, because sometimes in a modest jar, a powder product with an amazingly rich set of components is found, which is very effective.
The "pluses" of dry masks are not nearly limited to the presence of zeolite, clay and a dozen of plant elements in the composition. What other pros can you confidently put in their piggy bank?
Only natural!
Dry cosmetics need neither emulsifiers, nor preservatives, nor other components responsible for the correct consistency, a decent shelf life, easy rinsing, and so on. Therefore, its composition is extremely "pure" - and therefore it is difficult to find more natural cosmetics than dry. Due to this, such masks are quite neutral and rarely cause a negative skin reaction (except, of course, cases of allergies and intolerance to specific natural ingredients). Of course, you still need to pay attention to the composition and be careful when buying, but if you are focused on the most natural remedy, you should definitely not pass by dry masks.

And in the feast, and in the world.
Dry masks are not only very light and take up little space, but they are also extremely convenient to transport, and also incredibly economical. On average, a coffee spoon or half a teaspoon of dry powder is enough for once. When diluted with water, it acquires the consistency of gruel or sour cream, is perfectly distributed on the skin and dries out a little in the process. It does not need to be applied in a thick layer, so one jar of the most modest volume of 50-60 ml is enough for 10-15 times (or even more). Therefore, you can take a jar of dry mask with you on a two-week vacation and, using it every other day, without regretting, you will still bring half a can home without burdening your suitcase at all.
Due to their simultaneously simple and rich composition, dry masks work well as basic ones: diluting them with different liquids, you can achieve different effects. For example, if you dilute the same dry mask based on clay, zeolite, salt and plant components with water or hydrolate, it will have more pronounced cleansing properties, and if you use cosmetic oil or, for example, heavy cream as a diluent, then the mask will turn into in softening, nutritious, "winter". Many dry masks are similar in composition to ubtan and, if they are really finely ground, can be used as a cleanser, further expanding their scope.
How to apply dry masks correctly?
It couldn't be easier - but there are a few things to consider:
- Choose your mask carefully when purchasing. Many dry masks have pronounced cleansing properties, others are designed to whiten or soften the skin, to smooth or heal. To get the desired effect, try to choose exactly what you need; A “non-target” mask won't hurt you, but it won't solve your problems either. Read the composition, pay attention to the manufacturer's recommendations for use.
- It is usually recommended to dilute dry masks with warm water or hydrolate at room temperature, you can also use oils and heavy cream. You can first dilute the mask with water to the consistency of a thick slurry, and then add a drop of cosmetic vegetable oil, such as jojoba, almond, rose hips and any other that is suitable for use on the skin of the face. Add a little water and other thinners to keep the mask from getting too runny.
- The mask is applied to well-cleansed and slightly damp skin. Ideally, a mineral bio-purifier should be used as a cleansing agent (it also contains zeolite, salts, minerals), but in general, the main thing is that the skin is clean, ready to perceive all that is useful in the mask.

- Leave the mask on the skin for 20-45 minutes (read the manufacturer's recommendations). Do not let it dry completely on the skin, moisturize periodically with a spray bottle. A good option is to moisturize with a hydrolate tonic. The moisturizing item is especially relevant when it comes to masks with a high clay content.
- The mask is washed off with warm water, after which it is recommended to treat the skin with a tonic (hydrolate). You can let her "breathe" for an hour or two and then apply your usual cream, or you can apply it immediately.
Recently, more and more often you can find express masks, including dry ones: they need to be kept for only 5-10 minutes, which is very convenient for all those who do not have time to walk with a mask for a long time. Thanks to this, such masks can be applied in the morning, after cleansing the face and before day cream and makeup. After such treatment, the skin will look especially fresh.
