How to get rid of stretch marks with oils

Stretch marks, or stretch marks as most people call them, can appear for a variety of reasons. Of course, the most common of them is pregnancy or sudden weight gain. For example, due to hormonal changes. But striae can also appear with a sharp weight loss, as well as during adolescence. To combat them, most women opt for stretch mark oil.

At the first stage of the appearance of striae, they are clearly visible blue, red or purple uneven breaks under the skin. This is the moment that is best suited for effective treatment, because when they turn white, it becomes much more difficult to get rid of them. But even in this case, be prepared for the fact that the treatment will take at least six months.

The best oils for stretch marks

At home, you can use essential oils for stretch marks. These include cold-pressed citrus fruits, geraniums, carrot seeds, lavender, patchouli, rosemary, and a few others. No essential oil can be used in its pure form, because it can cause a burn. Depending on the goals you are pursuing, select the base to use.

  • Cold-pressed coconut oil is rightfully considered the most serious ally in the fight against stretch marks. It is effective in removing any stretch marks: both new and old.
  • Almond oil promotes additional collagen production in the skin, so it can be used to prevent stretch marks.
  • The same can be said about olive oil. It will give elasticity to the epidermis, but it will not cope with old scars. Vitamins A and E can be added to any base to add elasticity to the skin.

Healing extracts for fresh stretch marks

Lavender, tangerine, rose, or neroli can help with recent stretch marks. Citrus improves blood circulation, prevents the formation of edema. Neroli has a regenerating property, and also helps with capillary ruptures. Rose acts as an anti-inflammatory and moisturizer.

  • Remember that essential oils are mixed first, and then the base is gradually added to them. As a base for stretch marks, take 50 ml of almond extract and add 5 drops of lavender or rosemary to it. Rub this mixture on your thighs, stomach and buttocks daily at night.
  • You can also try a rosehip based product: add 1 drop of neroli and 2 ml of tangerine, apply to the skin at night or every time after a shower. In the latter case, the effect will be enhanced if you make a homemade coffee scrub, which also helps against cellulite.
  • As a base, you can use not only the base, but also body lotions and creams, honey and sour yogurt. All these ingredients effectively help with stretch marks. But in this case, you will need more essential oil: about 15 drops per 10 ml of base.

It should be remembered that oil from fresh stretch marks for pregnant women may have contraindications. For example, you can not use geranium until the seventh month, and juniper is completely contraindicated before childbirth. So oil from stretch marks during pregnancy should be selected especially carefully.

Essential oils for old stretch marks

To combat stretch marks that are more than a year old, you need to use coconut or wheat germ as a base. The latter stimulates the production of collagen and increases firmness and elasticity. This is exactly what the skin that suffers from stretch marks needs. Coconut is very quickly absorbed and perfectly absorbed by the cells of the epidermis, which is useful for "transporting" the essential oil deep into the skin.

  • To prepare the first composition, take 50 ml of wheat germ oil, 2 drops of neroli, lavender and orange. Mix everything and apply to problem areas. To make the action deeper, do this procedure after a shower: the product penetrates better into open pores. For the same purpose, the ingredients can be slightly heated in a water bath.
  • At night, you can rub a relaxing mixture. Use wheat germ and avocado as a base. Add rosemary, neroli, lavender and frankincense. The smells of this composition will not only help with stretch marks, but also provide a restful sleep.

Remember that the best remedy for stretch marks is prevention, because it is always easier to prevent than to get rid of. Applying oil after a shower will not take you much time.

How to beat cellulite with oils?

The first thing to say about this disease is that no oil will help if you rely only on it. Such procedures should be used in conjunction with proper nutrition, exercise and a healthy lifestyle. You should also note that many of the oils that are used in the treatment of cellulite can behave aggressively, so they should never be used during pregnancy.

The selection of an aroma program designed to rid you of cellulite should be done by a specialist. If you have chronic diseases, be sure to consult your doctor. Also remember that it is important to strictly follow the prescribed dosage.

  1. Aroma massage is the most common form of getting rid of cellulite. For 20 ml of the base, 1-2 drops of essential oil are taken. Then the resulting mixture is used to massage problem areas with hands, brushes or special gloves. Juniper, geranium, bergamot, neroli or rosemary are best suited.
  2. You can enrich a store-bought anti-cellulite cream by adding a few drops of your chosen oil to it. Use the product already squeezed out of the tube. It makes no sense to pour oil into the package, because such a hybrid cannot be stored for a long time. Lavender, rosemary, thyme, lemon, bergamot and orange are usually added to store formulations, because they are the best help against cellulite.
  3. A good remedy for orange peel and stretch marks is an aroma bath. Contrary to popular belief, it should not be hot: 40 degrees is enough. Instead of a base, you need to use kefir or yogurt for it, sea salt is also suitable as an emulsifier. You need to be in such a bath for 20 minutes. This is quite enough to get rid of cellulite over time - subject to regular use.
