Jojoba for hair: how to use oil

Jojoba oil, obtained from the fruits of Chinese Simmondsia, once grown only in the North American prairies and in the waterless corners of the Mexican Highlands, has been known from time immemorial to the Indian tribes inhabiting these lands. Calling it “liquid gold”, they thereby expressed their admiration for this unique product, which with the same success helped to heal many skin, eye and acute respiratory diseases and at the same time served as an excellent cosmetic drug. Jojoba oil in its consistency is not like any of the known vegetable oils. Being quite liquid and not at all greasy, it is more like liquid wax. Trichologists who studied this product in the seventies of the last century came to the conclusion that the composition of fatty acids contained in it and a number of other components make it similar to the composition of sebum produced by sebaceous glands located in the scalp. That is why it so organically fits into the program for caring for any hair and is not able to cause them the slightest harm.

Why is jojoba oil useful for hair?

Useful qualities of jojoba oil for hair are confirmed by centuries of its use in cosmetology and traditional medicine. There are the following ways to use it:

  • They oily the roots of oily hair. The result of this effect is the normalization of metabolic processes in the scalp due to the cleansing of the hair follicles from sebaceous plugs clogging them. Hair stops falling out, begins to grow quickly. Dandruff disappears and itching stops.
  • It is applied to the entire length of the strands. In this case, each hair gets a unique protective film, which not only moisturizes, but also protects the curls from the harmful effects of adverse natural factors. Nourishing the hair, oil penetrates into their inner layers, restoring the damaged structure. Weighting of curls does not occur. Having become strong, flexible and shiny, the hair becomes more resistant to temperature changes, wind and aggressive sunlight. Thanks to the restored structure, it is easier for them to transfer the procedures of perms, stains and thermal styling.
  • In addition to its pure use, it is included in the formulation of various masks, given its excellent compatibility with many natural oils and the complete absence of its own aroma.

Jojoba oil can be successfully used for curls of any type, but the most noticeable effect is observed if it is used to treat hair prone to oily. Equally striking is its effect on damaged, dull, overdried and weakened strands.
