History of Salt: Mediterranean Sea Salt is a 100% natural, white, crystalline salt; currently harvested either on the west coast of Sicily, Italy or a region in Spain, locations with ideal conditions for producing the highest quality sea salt. Unlike common table salt that is allowed to have anti-caking agents and up to 18 food additives, our Mediterranean sea salt has none. In addition, the minerals are stripped from table salt but left intact during the production of sea salt. 

Beneficial Properties: Our Sea Salt variety is white in color and has a grainy consistency. The rough nature of the salt lends itself to skin scrubs (exfoliation). We recommend you try Sea Salt as a body scrub or just as a relaxing additive to your baths.

Sea salt is mostly composed of sodium chloride, a compound that helps regulate fluid balance and blood pressure in the body.

Since it’s minimally processed, it contains some minerals, including potassium, iron, and calcium. This is one reason why it’s often considered nutritionally superior to table salt, which is heavily ground and has had most of its nutrients removed.
