Sodium Bicarbonate is a white, crystalline powder. Also known as baking soda, this product is not to be confused with baking powder which may contain aluminum sulphate. Pure Sodium bicarbonate does not countain aluminum. Our sodium bicarbonate is 100% pure, NaHCO3.

SODIUM BICARBONATE is classified as: abrasive, buffering, deodorant, oral care, and skin protecting. It is often used to make bath fizzies, as it has water softening, effervescent, and deodorizing properties. It is gentle on the skin and helps to draw out oil and impurities, leaving the skin feeling clean and smooth. When used in small amounts to adjust and maintain the pH of cosmetic products, baking soda is not a problem for skin; however, when used among the main ingredient in scrub products, it’s simply too abrasive and an ingredient we don’t recommend. The rating for this ingredient pertains to its benefit as a pH adjuster and buffering agent.

10 Ways to Use Baking Soda in Your Beauty Routine:

1 Natural toothpaste (Mix sodium bicarbonate with coconut oil and a drop of peppermint essential oil).

2 Whitening teeth (Combine a fresh strawberry with a spoonful of baking soda. Apply to teeth, leave as long as you can (resist eating it), and then rinse).

3 Exfoliator (Use a small amount to exfoliate your face once a week. Don’t overdo it, or you’ll experience dryness).

4 Brightening mask (Mix baking soda with 1 tbsp grapefruit juice and a few drops of extra-virgin olive oil. Leave 10-15 minutes, rinse, and moisturize).

5 Banish blackheads (Mix freshly squeezed lemon juice with baking soda. Apply to your face and leave it to harden. Rinse with cold water to close the pores).

6 Clarifying facial (Mix 2 tbsp honey and 1 tbsp soda. This is effective for treating acne).

7 Get rid of dark under-eye circles (Make a cup of chamomile tea, add 1 tbsp baking soda, and mix well. Wet a piece of cotton and apply to under-eyes. Leave 10-15 minutes, rinse, and moisturize).

8 Bath fizzies (Soak in a hot tub with 1 cup of baking soda added to water. Your skin will be smooth and soft, and the soda will relieve any discomfort from rashes or sunburn).

9 Exfoliate pedicure dead skin (Soak feet in warm water with several spoonfuls of baking soda added. Rub with soda).

10 Add volume to your hair (Mix 2 teaspoons of baking soda with a regular-sized amount of shampoo).
