Soy wax is a vegetable wax made from the oil of soybeans. After harvesting, the beans are cleaned, cracked, de-hulled, and rolled into flakes. The oil is then extracted from the flakes and hydrogenated.

Our Soy Wax Flakes for candle making. These soy wax flakes are specially formulated with partially hydrogenated soybean oil and soy based emulsifier (monoglycerides) for container candle use. The emulsifiers allow the soy to be poured at hotter temperatures, while reducing frosting and increasing fragrance oil load. It has a higher melting point (119-125 degrees Fahrenheit) which enables the soy to retain a higher fragrance oil load to give a stronger scent throw. Additives such as coloring, fragrance oils or essential oils can be added to this material to create a unique finished product.

Soy wax burns cleaner since it is a natural oil product versus the standard paraffin wax that is a petroleum byproduct which has been proven to emit toxins into the environment. Some people have experienced headaches or other side effects from burning paraffin candles. Even our local professional painter recommends burning soy wax candles over other waxes due to the clean burning effect that they have. Soy candles are a much more natural and environmentally friendly product causing few allergy problems.

Soy wax candles burn cooler which produces a longer burn time. This is both better for the environment and creates a longer burn time to enjoy your candle.

Soy wax cleans up easily with soap and water. Soy wax is 100% biodegradable.
