CheckoutSpa hair mask at home
Spa mask is an effective procedure for the health and beauty of hair. The high temperature helps the curls to absorb the benefits from the outside faster and more. But the best part is that there is nothing complicated about a spa mask. It can be done at home, and not only in salon conditions.
How to make a spa hair mask at home? Several ways
1 way (saucepan)
You will need a pot of hot water and a towel. The principle is like in childhood, when we were treated for a cold, breathing over freshly boiled potatoes.
We apply on the strands any natural, useful component of the mask (the list will be below). Then cover your head with a large bath towel. And we "breathe" over the pan for 10 minutes.
Observe precautions! There should not be boiling water in the saucepan, otherwise there is a risk of scalding.
Then we wrap the hair in the same towel and wait another 20-30 minutes. Wash off the mask with a mild shampoo.
2 way (hairdryer)
We distribute the components of the mask over the curls. Put on a shower cap or wrap your hair in stretch wrap or plastic bags. Cover the structure with a towel on top and heat it with a hairdryer for 5 minutes. After 10 minutes, you can repeat the heating with a hairdryer. In total, we go with a spa mask on our head for at least half an hour. We wash it off.
3 way (bath or bath)
Of course, it's great if you have a sauna or steam bath at your disposal. Then everything is simple. Apply the mask to your hair and steam as you used to. You can also do a similar action in a regular bath. Apply the mask to your hair. And take your bath as usual. But keep in mind that the effect is achieved only with prolonged heating. Therefore, you need to stay in the bath for at least half an hour and make sure that the water in it does not cool down.
Ingredients for a spa mask at home
All solid components of spa masks must be pulverized. You can also combine multiple ingredients as you like.
- Olive oil is suitable for all hair types. It conditions, moisturizes, nourishes and gives shine to curls. But with care, olive oil, and indeed any oil, should be applied on colored hair. The oily structure tends to wash out the color of the tinting, this is especially noticeable for the cold blond.
- Avocado contains omega-3 fatty acids and amino acids, antioxidants. Moisturizes, nourishes dry hair, restores structure.

- Aloe oil. Nourishes, moisturizes, soothes irritated, inflamed scalp.
- Banana is a rich source of potassium, natural oils and vitamins that help improve hair texture and keep it healthy. This fruit also contains silica, which is known to protect hair. Bananas are what you need for dry and damaged hair.
- Coconut oil is a source of fatty amino acids, vitamins B1, B3, B5, B6, C and E and minerals: calcium, iron, selenium, magnesium and phosphorus. It is also known that coconut oil penetrates the hair shaft and nourishes it from the inside.
- Honey not only softens and moisturizes, gives shine, but can also help fight dandruff and flaky scalp.
- Apple cider vinegar can balance the pH level of the scalp and seal the hair cuticle. And also vinegar removes plaque on the strands, which appears due to hard water.
- Beer conditions curls, gives them shine and volume.
- Cucumber promotes hair growth, has a beneficial effect on the scalp, relieving itching and irritation. Cucumber mask is suitable for all hair types.
- Colorless henna does not dye the hair, but it gives them quite a few bonuses. However, the use of henna has a number of nuances. More details here.
- Carrot oil. Carrots are a storehouse of goodies for the lock. Carrot juice is also suitable for a spa mask.
Spa masks are unique in that they can replace many salon treatments. And if you like the effect, be sure to try doing, for example, home hair lamination, shining or a night mask. Beautiful, healthy hair is, of course, time-consuming "work", but the result is definitely worth the effort.
